The final conference of the project „Enhancing Participation in Time of Crisis (TUTEPoC)“ took place on 12.07.2022 via the online platform Zoom. This conference was attended by a total of 18 participants and 1 external expert.
After a word of welcome and introduction of the participants, the expert Mr. Neumann from Germany reported on the effects of the corona crisis in different sectors in germany. As an example he talked about the current situation at german airports. In particular he talked about the shortage of skilled workers and its effects on all flight operations. After the presentation the discussion started about the current situation in the respective countries of the social partners and their reactions in this regard.
The results of the reports showed that the current situation in the countries are similar:
- Labor shortage
- shortage of skilled workers in tourism
- problems in the CARGO sector
However there are differences between countries when it comes to redundancies:
- 18.000 redundancies in macedonia
- non redundancies in italy
The social partners react differently to the situations:
- telework
- new solutions in general
- advanced training
- fixed-term contracts
- flexible working hours
- new legal regulation
- remuneration
- professionals from abroad
After the exchange Mrs Remedios Villa presented the „Guide for trade unions focused on employees‘ rights in restructuring caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and affected by the Green Deal priorities“
In the end Mr Neumann collected the wishes of the participants an the follow-up actions for continuing the project:
- further exchange
- best practice examples from other countries
- including the best practice excamples in the report from the whole project
- face-to-face meeting
The meeting ended with an evaluation regarding the satisfaction with the project and the exchange during the project. All participants were at least satisfied
